It was always going to happen. The current weakness of Sterling against the Euro was always going to end up with Euro car makers putting up prices, and Audi has now decided to bite the bullet and push up prices by an average of 2% from 23rd February. The Volvo XC90 has been with us for 10 years now -- a long time indeed when it comes to product life cycles of comparable upmarket SUVs. The stylish sport utility was a popular seller in North America for a good part of that decade, and for a while was even offered with a 4.4 liter V8 engine developed by Yamaha and shared with the second-gen S80 (a first for a Volvo passenger car). But if there's one thing Volvo is known for, it's not V8 engines -- it's safety.

Chrysler Nassau Concept: the lowdown
You're looking at Chrysler's new sampler for a shooting brake: the Nassau concept newly unveiled in Detroit. Design boss Trevor Creed heralded it as 'a new, more emotional Chrysler.' Although the same size as the mean-'n'-moody 300C saloon, the Nassau is designed to look smaller, with more delicate surface treatments, a subtler new eggcrate grille and a slimmer, more European hatchback rear end. The Nassau portrays more compact dimensions, despite rolling on huge 10-spoke, 22in alloy wheels.
